I am currently a sophomore at Fort Hays State University majoring in elementary education and organizational leadership. I was raised here in Hays and graduated from Hays High School in 2012. Coming to college where I grew up was a great choice for me I just didn’t know how I was going to make my mark on the university. I decided it would be through involvement on campus. I am currently involved in many on campus activates, off campus activities and with my work. On campus I am a peer mentor for the Living Learning Community L3, Live Learn Lead, I am the treasure of the Leadership Studies Association, the Sponsorship Chair for Up ‘til Dawn, an Orientation Assistant, leader for Golden Beginnings, a member of the National Society Of Leadership and Success, and a proud member of Sigma Phi Epsilon. Outside of Fort Hays I also volunteer my time to my church as a youth leader and Sunday school teacher. My career goals include becoming a teacher in an elementary school and eventually working on a master’s degree in administration to one day become a principal. My main goal in life is to make an impact on children and set them up for success, becoming a teacher seems like the perfect way to do this! Right out of school I may try to pursue a career with my leadership degree it just depends on what opportunities I am presented with.
